Cool, thanks for letting me know Edward.
I'm new here. Just finding my feet. Didn't mean to sound rude (sorry!).
Good to know there are still a few antagonists around!
my question is,if it is true that only j.w's will survive then surely everybody on the planet should at least get the option of becoming a witness, but there are people living in remote parts of the world who rarely come into contact with civilisation,im pretty sure there are still small tribes of people living in some rainforest who haven't even been discovered yet, where do theses people fit in,do they just perish like the rest of us?.
sorry if this is a daft question, been on the guinness all night!

Confused...after reading his last posting, will someone tell me if this person is genuine?

Mr Gentry, my love, why are you here?
Maybe you need to ask yourself this.
Are you merely a figure of argument for the purposes of furthering our adult and free minded discussion or are you seriously trying to convert the converted-and-then-unconverted? Surely, the teachings given from the platform forbid you from talking with disfellowshipped people.
Your attitude doesn't sound to Christian to me. If you want to join us, however, feel free - I think you should tell your freinds first though, don't you?

has anybody ever had any urges to act strangely at the kingdom hall?.
i remember having two very strong urges:.
the first was to stand up while everybody else was quietly listening to the meeting and throw my bible across the hall in a fit of frustration with the intention of hitting someone and waking up.
I have to say, Celtic that you have made me hoot at your reply. Thanks.
It wasn't the fart on the seat that was the best - it was the one you did during a prayer I seem to imagine. You and the rest of the guys used to sit near the back in a row (I used to sit next to Colin).
And yes, I had forgotten most of the people you'd mentioned. Crap aside, it was amusimg sometimes.
PS How's your family?

Mustang you clever old moo....
But they have their own rules...
Ignorance is bliss as far as the masses are concerned anyway.

I remember having two very strong urges:
The first was to stand up while everybody else was quietly listening to the meeting and throw my bible across the hall in a fit of frustration with the intention of hitting someone and waking up
everybody else there.
The other was to make monkey noises when the whole congregation broke into applause. We were like monkeys - we didn't know why we were clapping most of the time.
These urges have now changed. I obviously no longer attend meetings but if I did wonder into a Kingdom Hall I would do one of two things (or both even!:
Lead out the children (in Pied Piper fashion). Adults are free to believe what the hell they like but instilling unecessary fear and brainwashing children is wrong.
Secondly, I would swagger up to the platform, pull down my pants and show my shiny, round, white ass to the congretation.
That ought to wake a few nodders-off up!
Anyone else out there as weird as I am?

i am not advocating or encouraging anything...just dreaming.... after recently discovering the extent of the wtb&t's dependence upon compaq computers i was just entertaining a little fantasy about releasing the good news virus into their computer systems, which would propagate through email and also automatically be downloaded from apostate sites that the witnesses undoubtedly spy upon.
this virus would be rather nasty i'm afraid.. instead of doing something along the lines of cleaning out their hard drive or posting obscene material it would do the following:.
Remind them of all the oral sex they've missed!

Oh yes, that's the jist of it. So that's why we've all got to get out on the ministry!
I am sure that one of our better read friends will find a quote somewhere but I seem to remember reading about this a while ago.
Ignorance is no excuse.
am i reading the elders manual correctly?
a husband is expected to be involved in his wife's committmee meeting but there is no mention of a wife being involved in the husband's.
is this what our experiences were like?
Don't start me on issues of male domination.
I know that this may be straying from the topic a little but..according to the Society:
Apparently, men are superior to women because they have a penis and because they have brains and women don't. That leads me to wonder where these men are keeping their brains. Explains a lot really...
Please understand, male freinds of this forum that I am merely expressing the views of the Society as I see them. I realise that I am not expressing the attitude of human males in general!! (please don't hate me!).
i feel cheated because i wouldnt know what its like to experience pregnancy and the birth of my children the way it was meant to be.. a completely natural and joyous event in human life was sabotaged by this religion!.
im sure there are others who know what i mean.. i would be interested to hear stories of others who have had children both inside and out of this organization.. i would like to explain what i mean.. i was raised as a witness and was always expected to be an example.
from as far back as i can remember we were taught that armageddon was just around the corner.
I'm so sorry, Ranchette that your experience of childbirth and motherhood were ruined by these people. What right do they have to do this (a question I have asked myself many times).
I was raised as a JW and there is no way that my son will be put under the same pressures and robbed of the same joys of childhood that I had taken from me.
As it happened, my husband left shortly before my son was born. He is a very active and intelligent boy and there is no way that I would be able to take him to three meetings a week on my own. That would be madness!
My pregnancy could have been totally ruined by the fact that my marriage was on the rocks, I went through a Judicial Committee and was disfellowshipped and like a mad woman I went back to the Kingdom Hall and sat like an outcast at the back for a few weeks. But it wasn't. I enjoyed every moment and love my son dearly.
It will be better next time around, believe me...
